So you’re jumping on the health bandwagon and are looking to start feeling a lot better – nice move! While your choice is highly commended and most definitely praised, you may need to take a step back and look at a few things before proceeding forward. The reason I bring this up is simple: most people nowadays are looking at “health” the wrong way. So today, we’re going to discuss the reasons why most people are lost in this crazy world of misleading health information.

QUALITY NOT QUANTITY – Calories are not the problem here!
Time and time again, I see people loading up their baskets at the grocery store with so-called “healthy” products that are actually quite the opposite. You see, we have been brainwashed into believing that these “low-calorie” items are the ones to always select while shopping; yet, they’re actually the most dangerous. What I’d like to point out here as well is that most of these scam products are loaded with ingredients and preservatives that can do some serious damage.
Here, let me give you a prime example of what I’m talking about. Check out the picture below:
Now, as you may notice, the image above is far from anything real or nourishing – I fail in seeing the benefit of eating something like this. The sad part is that most products (generic/conventional) being sold today look exactly like this! Our foods have downgraded in value immensely! Contemporary selections have been on this decreasing trend for some time now, and it’s not stopping! Our food selections are becoming more and more toxic as the years pass, and little is being done about it.
So how about we take this a bit further? Let’s see WHY this specific ingredient label that I’ve listed above is so bad in the first place. Below are a few examples of why I recommend staying far away from products like these.
- Enriched Flour: Diabetes, weight gain, absorbed as a starch, which can severely imbalance one’s blood sugar.
- Soybean and/or cottonseed oil: Endocrine distributor, toxic from being pressed with heat, loaded with phytoestrogens, full of pesticides. Also to note, cottonseed oil is not regulated as a ‘food crop;’ therefore, it’s heavily doused with chemical agents.
- Partially Hydrogenated Oil: Cancerous, can damage heart and/or circulatory system.
- Corn Syrup: Severe blood sugar disruptor, heart disease, and obesity.
- Preservatives: Preservatives can wreck havoc on the body in various ways. Click here to see exactly why many are used in anything from common food items to fast food. Warning, this may shock you!
So now, would you say that these “foods” are worth putting in your body? I’d say not! The main problem here is that items like these are in more than 90% of conventional products being sold today. This is horrible news! And yes, this does include those “healthy” selections we were all convinced to buy while shopping. The bottom line here is that people are just misled, but let’s change all of that :)
Now ask yourself this…
“Would my body prefer a low-calorie but very toxic food, or an extremely nourishing, whole, organic, nutrient-dense food?”
Which do you feel will react better within the body? Truly, this is what people should be thinking of while grocery shopping. Unfortunately, it has become quite clear that the majority of people have forgotten our many basic food principles. And there are lots to blame for this – our media being a huge contributor to this problem.
The main message here is that quality reigns supreme over the amount of calories one eats. No longer must you count your way through the grocery store. The key is to start reading your labels so you can begin to correctly purify your body. The fewer ingredients within the foods you’re buying, the better. Keep it simple, or pay the price. I rarely buy anything with more than five ingredients listed – a very simple and effective way to shop for food.
Ok, so now that we’ve covered this crazy mainstream junk food topic, let’s move onto the next…
The Juice Hoax – that juice is making you sick and fat!
Now this is a topic that gets me pretty upset. The main reason being is because juice (store bought) is still being promoted as a healthy addition to the diet. As a result, parents and “health-nuts” alike are not even thinking twice when buying these items. What’s even worse is how misleading contemporary media presses these fruit juices. Payouts by ‘juice giants’ are fueling this epidemic on a mass scale. On top of all that, studies (like this one here), are proving that many different diseases are linked-in with diets rich in sugar.
What I find most crazy is that advertisements involving these companies are always stressing that “juice” gives 2-3 servings of fruit per glass. THIS IS SO WRONG! Claims revolving around these misleading “health” concepts are pushing the masses to think something is healthy, when it’s actually the exact opposite.
Juice is nothing more than sugary water
What more people need to realize here is that 1 glass of juice contains about the same amount of sugar as a can of soda, and even more in some cases! Here, let’s see why this is such a problem. I have listed some studies below that may be of interest to you.
Now to note, these are only a few of the areas that you should be concerned with involving sugar. There is such a problem connected to sugar and it’s consumption, that further research (on your part) is recommended. I’ve only touched the surface here, so it’s imperative that you dig a little deeper. If you really want some juice, make it yourself at home. But please be aware of the sugar content in these as well. Many people make the mistake of thinking that “juicing” has no limit, and this is wrong.
All I’m driving at here is that the world in which we live in, is addicted to sugar with little to no awareness. People really don’t understand the dangers associated with this toxic sweetener, and hopefully, that will change in the future. But if you can cut it from your diet today, I guarantee that you will see a dramatic increase in your overall health.
Try cutting sugar for 30-days and then let me know how you feel. It’s crazy to actually watch this transformation. It’s as if the body goes back into a balanced state.
Now on to the next topic…
TOXIC Supplements
Yes that’s right! That product that you may have recently purchased from your neighborhood vitamin shop is probably not all that great. And I say this with complete honesty! I too used to be hooked on these junk supplements, but they were working against me and my health goals. As with the ‘quality not quantity’ argument above, this same rule applies to supplements. Let me show you what most people are taking, and then I’ll show you a better alternative. Check it out below:
Ok, so this is a typical label of a widely used product that you’ve definitely heard of before (no names here though). The main problem people are facing when using products like these revolve around their ability to throw the body out-of-balance. On top of that, many of the ingredients are toxic, and are carcinogenic. That’s right, some of these ingredients have actually been proven to influence cancer development. Pretty scary!
“Now let’s take a look at the healthier supplements that we recommend using”
You see, this is a real clean product. Do you see the difference in size here as well? One ingredient list is extremely long and is laden with toxic goodies, while the other is short, simple, healthy and very clean. Again, people are more concerned with calories and/or protein content when buying these products, when they should be more aware of WHAT their putting in their body. The quality vs. quantity model is applicable in many realms of health and wellness. This is a prime example of comparing and contrasting such areas.
So as far as supplements go, your goal should be to buy ones without loads of ingredients. If a label looks as if it’s a shopping list for some chemistry experiment, put it back! Not only will harmful products like these work against you and your health goals, they might set you on a path for serious health destruction later on down the road.
The Mental Game:
Our last and final area of focus for this article has to do with how seriously you hone your mental skills. I can guarantee that if you don’t train your mind to deal with the issues that we have discussed today, failure is imminent. I have had great success with my diet and lifestyle overall, but none of it would have been possible without a strong and steady mental focus.
I’ve given up junk food, sugar, grain products, commercial-grade meat, toxic body products, soda, and a bunch of other bad things! But you see, I’ve taken out the negative elements and replaced them all with good alternatives. And you better believe that my mental strength played a huge role in all of it.
Many days we’re loaded with temptation and withdrawal, but I had trained my thought processes to deal with such issues. Meditation, deep thought exercises, goal setting, progress tracking: these are common examples of what successful people do in all aspects of life. Whether it is for one’s diet, or even to take finances to the next level, these mental exercises are imperative for one to succeed.
I really can’t stress how essential mental strength is for improving one’s overall physical wellbeing. This is an extremely complex subject, but for now, just be aware of your thought processes throughout the day, and try getting used to regulating positive and negative thoughts. Just by doing that, you will be way ahead of the curve.
To Conclude
The message I want you to take home is simple – purity! That’s it! If you can restructure your life to revolve around a more pure environment overall, you will see an improvement in your health – physically and mentally. This is guaranteed! Over the years, I have been very proactive in ridding my environment of toxic and detrimental substances, and my health has improved because of it. I share this information with you because it works. Science has proven these facts and I’m just trying to help in spreading the word.
Thank you so much for your time and interest in this post. I’ll have more up very soon. Take care and be well.
You’re greatly helping a lot of people.
